Team Cornwall presents its Annual Year-in-Review Meeting
It’s December, which means it’s time once again for the ever-popular Team Cornwall annual Year-in-Review meeting.
The meeting will be held on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 7:00 am, at Aultsville Theatre at St. Lawrence College. The highlight of the meeting will be a review the year’s economics by Mark Boileau, Manager of Cornwall Economic Development. This year’s presentation marks the 11th consecutive year that the City’s Economic Development Department has delivered its report.
“2009 has been an extremely busy year with several major construction projects taking place at the same time,” said Mark Boileau. “Our presentation will give people a glimpse behind close doors at these projects, and provide a hint of what to expect for 2010.”
Last year, Mayor Bob Kilger surprised the audience by announcing the Shoppers Drug Mart Distribution Centre at the Team Cornwall meeting.
“Cornwall is experiencing construction activity that has not been seen since the construction of the Seaway,” said Mayor Bob Kilger. “The Year in Review gathering is a priceless opportunity to shine with Cornwall's brightest stars. If you can only make one meeting this year - make it this one.”
New Venue, New Format
The meeting will be held for the first time at Aultsville Theatre instead of Galaxy Cinemas.
“Demand for tickets has reached a point where we simply had to move to a larger theatre,” said Gilles Latour, Chair of Team Cornwall. “This gives us the opportunity to deliver information to many more people.”
Along with the presentation from Cornwall Economic Development, the morning will also feature a short presentation by Bob Koehler - a Canadian speaker in demand from Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Koehler promises to deliver a message with "extraordinary insights".
Team Cornwall will also be highlighting its members’ efforts and accomplishments over the past year.
“Our members have been travelling and spreading the word about Cornwall, and it is always exciting to catch up on what everybody is doing,” said Gilles Latour. “This meeting will provide a great opportunity to network with hundreds of business and community leaders.”
Open to All
The meeting is open to all – regardless of Team Cornwall membership. A light breakfast will be served at 7am, followed by the meeting.

Tickets to the Team Cornwall Year-In-Review meeting are $10 each and can be purchased by calling the Cornwall and Seaway Valley Tourism office @ 613 938-4748. People are strongly encouraged to reserve their spot ahead of time.
