RBC to announce two good news stories
This Saturday the Royal Bank of Canada will be sharing two great stories at the Cornwall Farmer's Market (George Assaly Lane and Pitt Street) at 10:00 a.m.
Jeff Bean, RBC Olympian, will be presenting a cheque of $10,000 to the Agape Centre on behalf of the Royal Bank of Canada, while the second annoucement is the reveal of a Cornwall woman who has been selected by the Royal Bank of Canada to be an Olympic Torchbearer.
The generous donation is part of the new approach between the Royal Bank of Canada, the Agape Centre and the Ontario Association of Food Banks to bring a fresh approach to food drives. This program is encouraging Cornwallites to come down to the Cornwall Farmer's Market to buy local and share local food with the food bank.
The Royal Bank of Canada would like to extend the opportunity to meet the first announced torchbearer for the community. This individual has participated in marathons and is a local health care worker. She will be continuing the tradition of carrying the flame as it travels person to person from Greece to it's final destination at the B.C. Place for the Winter Olympics on February 12, 2010.
The Olympic Torch will be traveling through Cornwall on December 14th and will be stopping at Lamoureux Park, an official Celebration Site, at 10:45 a.m.. Festivities are planned at the park for the event.
