Team Cornwall AGM April 7th, 2009
Team Cornwall will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 7:00 am, at the Best Western Parkway Inn.
The highlight of the meeting will be a presentation by Major William Hilton Fletcher of the Canadian Armed Forces, a veteran of campaigns in Afghanistan and Bosnia.
Major William Hilton Fletcher
Major Fletcher was born in St Albert, Alberta to a military family. After joining the Canadian Forces Reserves in Kingston in 1989, he attended the Royal Military College in Kingston, graduating with a Bachelor in Civil Engineering. In 1995 Major Fletcher was posted to 2 Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry Winnipeg and conducted a tour of Bosnia as a Civil Affairs Liaison Officer. Following this tour he was posted to the Infantry School in Gagetown, New Brunswick. In 2004 Major Fletcher was sent back to action, posted to 1 Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry Edmonton, and then deployed to Afghanistan under Operation Archer.
Following his tour in Afghanistan, Major Fletcher received a Star of Military Valour, and his citation for that award is as follows: As Officer Commanding C Company, Task Force Afghanistan, from January to August 2006, Major Fletcher repeatedly demonstrated extraordinary bravery by exposing himself to intense fire while leading his forces, on foot, to assault heavily defended enemy positions. On two occasions, the soldiers at his side were struck by enemy fire. He immediately rendered first aid and then continued to head the subsequent assaults. On these occasions and in ensuing combat actions, his selfless courage, tactical acumen and effective command were pivotal to the success of his company in defeating a determined opponent.
Annual General Meeting
This meeting will serve as Team Cornwall’s Annual General Meeting. Breakfast will be served at 7 am, and the meeting will run from 7:30am - 9am. As in past years, the Board of Directors (Team Captains) will be elected at the meeting. Click here to download the Team Cornwall nomniation form.

The meeting is open to all – regardless of Team Cornwall membership.
