Hockeyville Photo Winners

Cornwall may have finished second in Hockeyville voting, but area residents took a back seat to no one when it came to banding together and showing our Hockeyville spirit. That enthusiasm and involvement was evident in the number of reponses received for our Team Cornwall Hockeyville photo appeal.

As the Hockeyville photo gallery shows, Cornwall businesses got involved in a big way with signs and billboards of support. Employees and residents donned hockey jerseys and gathered together to show their spirit. People of all ages took the time to stand up for their city and make sure their votes counted.

The judging committee, with great difficulty, was able to select three winning photos from approximately 75 pictures submitted.

Gold - Doing our best for Hockeyville at St. Lawrence College
This photo of Student Union president Andrew Dion wearing goaltender equipment while voting (or doing schoolwork) is a perfect example of the passion Cornwall has for hockey.
Silver - Young Leafs Fan
Everyone fell in love with this picture of 8 month old Bradley Greggain, wearing his Maple Leafs jersey and making his mommy and daddy, Rebecca & Jean Greggain, proud!
Bronze - Eastern Ontario Health Unit
There were so many good group shots to choose from, this was a tough choice. This photo of the staff of the Eastern Ontario Health Unit had it all – hockey jerseys, enthusiasm, involvement, creativity and spirit!
Honourable Mention – Hockeyville Cupcakes.
Submitted by the Thompson Rosemount Group, who also submitted group photos. Above average effort and creativity.

Our winners will be recognized at the upcoming Team Cornwall quarterly meeting. Thanks to everyone who submitted their Hockeyville photos, and thanks for your support of Cornwall’s quest for the Hockeyville title.
